On August 13 at 7:30 PM, Celebration Barn presents An Evening with the Lazours, featuring Daniel and Patrick Lazour, two brothers who have garnered acclaim as songwriters and performers. The Celebration Barn artists-in-residence will share brand new work in this intimate evening of original story-songs.
Brothers Daniel and Patrick Lazour create music and musical theater that draw on a wide range of idioms, from folk music to Americana to contemporary pop. They are recipients of the prestigious 2021 Jonathan Larson Grant. The duo tells stories through music of people who find themselves at the forefront of history. They will share original songs, including releases from their brand new album, Beth’s Homemade Cowboy Breakfast, available on Spotify, iTunes, and more.
The Lazours gained widespread recognition as some of today’s most promising voices in musical theater with their show We Live in Cairo. The musical, about six students who participated in the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, was presented at the American Repertory Theater in 2019. The Boston Globe called We Live in Cairo “a smart, tight musical balancing nuanced relationships and grand, global ideas that could debut on Broadway tomorrow.”
Tickets to An Evening with the Lazours on Saturday, August 13 at 7:30 PM are available for $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (65+), and $10 for kids (17 and under). All tickets are general admission. The lobby and concessions open at 7:00 PM. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.
