Comfort and Joy

Call for Entry for all Artists. Coinciding with the holiday season and New Year, "Comfort and Joy" asks artists for work reflecting happiness, serenity, and peace. Open to all media, this exhibitions will be a relief from the hectic nature of yaer's end, and a warm welcome to the new decade. 

Eligibility

Open to all artists 18 years and older, world-wide, both amateur and professional, working in all styles and schools of thought. This includes alternative and traditional artwork. Questions about eligibility can be sent to exhibitions@foundryartcentre.org.

Entry Specifications

All media in 2D and 3D forms will be considered. 2D work must be suitably framed and have hardware readily attached and preped for immediate hanging. There is no minimum size requirement and larger pieces must be able to enter the gallery through an 84" x 71" doorway.  Once installed, work my not exceed 11 feet in height. Any installation or digital works must speak with Exhibitions Manager to coordinate presentation.

A mazimum of 3 entries per artists may be submitted for consideration. Artists may submit entries the following way: 1) through the FAC website using the online form, 2) on a CD or USB flashdrive (CD/flashdrive will not be returned), or 3) via email to exhibitions@foundryartcentre.org. For emailed entries, include required entry information with each image sent as it corresponds to entry form. Limit 2 jpegs per artwork; 1 full view and 1 (optional) detailed or alternative view. Title each jpeg file to correspond with the number on the entry form as such:  yourlastname_entry#.jpg. Each jpeg must be limited to 1024 pizels on the longest side. Submissions that do not comply with these rules will not be presented to the juror. See Exhibition FAQ for details. 

Entry Fee

Artists may submit up to three works for a non-refundable processing fee of $35. Foundry Art Centre members may submit up to three works for a non-refundable fee of $24.

Exhibition Space

The Foundry Art Centre is a dynamic, interactive center dedicated to the creation and presentation of contemporary visual arts. Our mission is to connect people with the arts through our studio artists, educational classes, and exhibitions. Featuring a state-of-the-art gallery space, the Foundry hosts national and international juried fine art exhibitions and curated traveling exhibitions. 

About the Juror

The rolling hills of Missouri come to life in the imagination of the artist, illuminating a moment in time past. Drawing on the legacy of 1930's  regionalist painters Thomas H. Benton and Grant Wood, Bryan Haynes continues New Regionalism into the twenty first century. Since graduating from the Art Center College of Deign in 1983, Haynes' artwork has been represented by Bernstein and Andriulli in New York, Ron Sweet in San Francisco, and Foster Represents in St. Louis. 

Recent corporate and institutional commissions include murals and large scale paintings for The Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, The Botanical Garden's permanent collection, the Westward Expansion Memorial Museum at the Arch, Novus Internation Inc., and the Danforth Plant Science Center. Additional patrons include Disney, Estee Lauder, Warner Bros., Toblerone- Swizerland, Universal Studios, IBM, NIke, Sony Music Corp., and Anheser Busch. 

Gallery representation includes American Legacy Gallery, Kansas City; Augusta Wood Ltd., Augusta: Kodner Gallery of Ladue; Manitou Galleries, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Maxwell Alexander Gallery, Los Angeles, California. 

Publicity

The Foundry Art Centre reserves the right to photograph and reproduce, in color or black and white, all artworks accepted for this exhibition, regardless of copyright, for educational and/or publicity purposes.

Sales, Liability, and Insurance

The Foundry ARt Centre will retain a 35%commission on all sales directly attributed to the exhibition. All prices (including frame and matte) set by the artist at the time of entry should include the 35% commission. The price will remain the same price for the duration of the exhibition. Foundry Art Centre provides standard insurance at 50% of retail on all exhibited works while on the premises. Artist is responsible for work in transit to and from. 

Delivery and Pick-Up

Accepted works are to be hand-delivered or shipped in a single, reusable crate/carton. Included with each work one 3" x5" card listing Name, Address, Phone, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. Attached card to the back of 2D work or base of 3D work. Accepted works must remain for the duration of the exhibition.

Works must be shipped at the artist's expense to the Foundry Art Centre. Accepted artiss shipping their work must include prepaid charges for return shipping. Shipped artwork submitted without pre-paid return shipping labels (no stamps) will be disposed of at the close of the exhibition. 

Hand-delivered works must be picked up at the close of the exhibition or work becomes property of FAC to dispose of as it sees fit.
