Maine Arts Commission is seeking Grants and Website Manager

 (Public Service Coordinator I – Director of Special Projects)

The Maine Arts Commission (MAC) seeks an enthusiastic individual to join our team of collaborative professionals. The Grants and Website Manager will coordinate administrative activities related the on-going maintenance and updating of the MAC website and web-based Grants Management System. The Grants and Website Manager works in partnership with our contracted software development team to ensure the MAC website is intuitive and our grant application portal is functioning properly. A good customer service attitude is essential for the Grants and Website Manager since they are one of the agency’s front-line contacts for interested grant applicants and grant recipients. The Grants and Website Manager is also responsible for assuring grantee compliance with award requirements and is charged with researching State Arts Agency grant and website management trends and ideas to help meet the evolving needs of the Commission and the field.


Managing the awarding and administration of grants, cooperative agreements, or other related instruments.
Ensuring that information shared from the Commission staff and field is posted accurately and effectively on the website.
Working with staff to design, develop, implement, and interpret grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices.
Providing training, technical assistance, oversight, ethics advice, expertise, and consultation to program officials, awardees, review panels, applicants, recipients, and subrecipients as needed.
Serving as liaison between the U.S. Federal Government and external customers, recipients, and awardee community to clarify, interpret, and resolve issues involving grant funds.
Determining awardee eligibility using established criteria.
Preparing, processing, issuing, and tracking grants/assistance awards and compliance with reporting requirements.
Conducting program evaluation, including monitoring, and assessing awardee performance, and establishing performance measures.
Performing final review of completed awards and sharing results with staff.
Participating fully in strategic planning and implementation of the Commission’s on-going five-year strategic plan.
Working collaboratively with agency staff on the distribution of funding to grant programs, and website management and priorities.
Working with staff to assess analytics of website usage and recommend adjustments that will improve engagement with the website.
Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and workshops as an agency representative.
Monitoring other state and national trends in grants management and grant giving, as well as website management.


Possesses excellent written and spoken communication skills and is open to feedback.
Possesses a proficiency in basic website design and technical problem solving

Possesses an understanding of the cultural field.

A four (4) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in website development and/or arts or non-profit administration or management is preferred. Proficiency with general tech literacy, web services and program applications is desired.

PAY GRADE - $58,968.00 - $80,142.40/Annually
