Peace and Joy Holiday Art Show Opens at Meetinghouse Arts

  • November 19, 2021

Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport (ACAF) is excited to announce the opening of the Peace and Joy holiday show at its Meetinghouse Arts gallery. The show, which opens November 22, features the work of over 50 local artists and includes original paintings, sculpture, photography, and fine crafts of jewelry, glass work, pottery, knitted goods, fiber arts, and holiday cards. These unique, one-of-a-kind items were created by Meetinghouse Arts gallery member artists with peace and joy in mind and are perfect for gift giving. The show continues through December 30.

“We are very excited to host our second annual holiday show in our new, permanent gallery,” says Stacey Lodato, ACAF board member and gallery committee chairperson. “It provides an exciting opportunity for residents and visitors to come see our new gallery space and find something special for holiday giving.”

Meetinghouse Arts is the new home of ACAF and is comprised of a newly renovated performance hall and gallery space. It is located within the historic First Parish Congregational Church at 40 Main Street in Freeport. Meetinghouse Arts is the result of extensive planning with the support of town leaders, the business community, artists, cultural organizations, community members, and the dedication of dozens of volunteers. Meetinghouse Arts provides a new creative focal point for Greater Freeport and a place for the community to come together to create, collaborate, present, and enjoy a diverse array of arts and cultural work.

In addition to the gallery show, there are a number of events and activities happening at Meetinghouse Arts during this holiday season. These include music, lectures, dance performances, workshops, classes and theatrical productions. ACAF invites the public to visit its website (www.freeportartsandculture.org) to see upcoming events.
