Portland Conservatory Raises over $16,000 at Faculty Concert Event
The Portland Conservatory of Music hosted its 4th Annual Faculty Fundraiser Concert on March 5th and raised over $16,000 to support programs and updates to their new facility.
March 10, 2022 - Portland, Maine: Portland Conservatory of Music, a nonprofit community music school providing quality music education and performances, hosted its 4th Annual Faculty Concert and Fundraiser on March 5th to raise funds to support innovative programming and continued improvements to the Conservatory's new home at 28 Neal Street in Portland’s historic West End.
Faculty members collaborated on a variety of performances including works by Saint-Saëns, Sibelius, Ponce, Stamitz, Fauré and more. The concert took place in the performance hall at the new PCM building with nearly 100 people in attendance. The evening included drinks, a wide array of desserts and a mission based auction. Corporate sponsors for the event were Wright-Ryan Construction, Genesan/Clean-O-Rama, and TRSS Wealth Management.
Faculty performers included Timothy Burris, John Bennett, Keith Crook, Jesse Feinberg, Lydia Forbes, Amy Hunter, Laura del Sol Jimenez, Eleanor Lehman, Kimberly Lehman, Kathleen McNerney, Luette Saul and Miriam Schwanauer.
Rachel Herzer, piano instructor, was awarded the Carol Eaton Elowe Faculty Award for her dedication to her students throughout the pandemic, keeping them engaged and learning through lockdowns and remote learning. Established in 2012, this award provides a $500 prize to a Portland Conservatory of Music faculty member who exemplifies Carol Eaton Elowe’s qualities of superior dedication to the mission of the school.
The Mission-Based Auction, where donors made pledges to support mission-related activities, was a huge success raising over $6,000 that evening to support the Building Harmony capital campaign of the Portland Conservatory of Music. Building Harmony is a comprehensive, three year capital campaign to increase accessibility to quality music education and performance for everyone through investing in a new space and innovative programming.
The evening was an incredible night of music, friends and community and raised over $16,000 through ticket sales, donations, auction pledges, and sponsor support.
