Cape Elizabeth, ME – July 20, 2025 – The Bonoff Gallery at St. Alban’s Church will host a compelling new art exhibit titled “Forever Ours: Microplastics and PFAS”, on view from September 7 through October 23, 2025. This exhibition brings together the worlds of science and art to raise awareness about two of the most pressing environmental threats of our time: microplastics and PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), often referred to as “forever chemicals.”
Curated by acclaimed Boston artist and curator Gail Bos, known for her innovative street art and environmental advocacy, this juried show features works by artists who confront the global crisis of plastic pollution through their creative expression.
Each piece in the exhibition is accompanied by a scientific statement that contextualizes the environmental challenges presented, offering viewers both an emotional and intellectual engagement with the issue.
“We want visitors to see that art can inform and inspire,” said curator Gail Bos. “This is more than an exhibit—it’s a call to awareness and action.”
An Opening Coffee Reception will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, featuring live music and an opportunity to meet the artists.
All artworks are for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local charitable organizations working for mercy and environmental justice in the greater Portland area.
Gallery Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
