Short Story Writing Challenge

Storytellers of all ages and styles!
The Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk has a challenge for you.
Write a story that answers the following questions:
Who (or what) lives in the Museum at night?
And what do they do when the staff goes home?
Authors are encouraged to be as creative as possible, but all stories should be appropriate for a family audience.

Guidelines:
Open to: All ages (1 – 101)
Story Length:
- Children’s story: 250 – 750 words
- Short story: around 5,000 words
Ready to submit?
- Please make sure you’ve corrected all grammar and the story appears how you want it printed.
- Email a Word document (NO pdfs, please) with the following at the top of your story:
Title
Author
Mailing address
Set the scene!
Want to visit the Museum to set your story? Email info@brickstoremuseum.org to set up a behind-the-scenes tour time to get a complete view of the Museum in which you can set your story.
What happens next?
All submissions will be published to the Museum’s website in December 2021 for the public. Readers will be asked to vote for their favorite story, which may be self-published by the Museum in 2022 (with the winner’s approval, of course!).
