Had enough of winter? Join the Augusta Symphony Orchestra for a Spring concert on Sunday, March 8, at 3:00 pm at Cony High School’s Viles Auditorium.
The program opens with Jean Sibelius’s Finlandia, Op. 26, followed by Maurice Ravel’s enchanting Mother Goose Suite. After a brief intermission, the orchestra concludes the afternoon with Johannes Brahms’s Serenade No. 1 in D Major.
This concert will be led by Guest Conductor Michael Lund Ziegler, Executive Director of the Portland Conservatory of Music. An active conductor, classical saxophonist, and chamber musician, he also serves as Music Director of the Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony.
Founded in 1920, the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, led by Conductor and Music Director Jinwook Park, is a community-based ensemble dedicated to enriching the cultural life of central Maine through live symphonic performances. The ASO brings together musicians of all ages and backgrounds and offers audiences access to high-quality classical programming. With a long history and a strong commitment to accessibility, the orchestra remains a vital part of the region’s artistic landscape.
Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted in support of the ASO’s mission to provide accessible classical music to the central Maine community.
