Come see I Am My Own Wife at Portland Stage running March 3rd through March 21st.

Doug Wright discovers the unsung story of Charlotte von Malsdorf, a trans woman, who lived openly in Germany during the Nazi and Stasi regimes. Composed of interviews with Mahlsdorf and others, this is a story that needs to be seen to be believed.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony award for best play in 2004.

“Saucy, sagacious, entirely fascinating solo play.” – Village Voice
