About the Workshop

This five-day intensive offers a deep dive into the methodologies and techniques of physical theatre, combining theory with practical exercises to enhance participants’ creative and technical abilities.

The workshop explores key concepts such as theatrical biomechanics (Vsevolod Meyerhold), psychological gesture (M. Chekhov), and physical action (K. Stanislavski), focusing on how these approaches can be integrated into movement dramaturgy, improvisation, and scene composition. Participants will gain valuable tools for crafting compelling physical performances and working effectively within diverse creative teams.

Led by Sergei Ostrenko, a seasoned director and choreographer with over 40 years of experience, and Gennadiy Ostrenko, an expert in biomechanics and stage combat, the workshop creates a dynamic environment where performers from various disciplines and countries collaborate, experiment, and grow.

The program emphasizes the multidisciplinary and multicultural principles of NIPAI, encouraging participants to step beyond their usual boundaries and discover new approaches to movement and storytelling on stage.

Registration and Fees

The Early Bird Fee is €550 until January 10, 2025. After this date, the fee increases to €650.

The fee includes:

• Full participation in the five-day workshop (28 hours)

• A certificate of completion upon meeting the program requirements
