Natasha Mayers: an Un-Still Life is a new documentary film that follows Maine’s “most committed activist artist” in her quest to engage with the questions that face people-of-conscience today.
Join the Maine Film Association and filmmakers Anita Clearfield and Geoffrey Leighton for the March 2021 edition of the Maine Filmmaker Showcase, featuring a Maine-made film screening followed by a talkback with the filmmakers.
About the Film
Presenting an artist who has remained true to her passion for over 50 years, Natasha Mayers: an Un-Still Life follows Natasha as she takes on social, economic, and environmental justice issues with humor, irreverence, and a keen aesthetic that enlightens while it entertains.
Using a non-traditional approach, the film’s animation and special effects reflect Mayers’ own art-style. From her arrest at a demonstration to featured conversations with artists Kathy Bradford and Robert Shetterly and art critic Lucy Lippard, the film follows her quest to engage with the questions that face people-of-conscience today.
