Portland Chamber Music Festival: Opening Night Celebration
- Date: August 9, 2018
- Time: 07:30 PM
- Location: Hannaford Hall at the USM Campus, Portland
PCMF celebrates 25 years of bringing world-class chamber music to southern Maine, and the farewell season of Founding Artistic Director Jennifer Elowitch, with acclaimed performers from our country’s top ensembles, festivals, and conservatories.
What better way to open a milestone anniversary season than with the finale from PCMF’s very first Festival concert, 25 years ago? Mendelssohn’s Octet is one of the most popular, beloved, and moving works in all of chamber music. This concert opens with a charming gem of a piano trio by Haydn and a colorful quintet by one of the 20th century’s foremost composers for guitar featuring David Leisner, lauded as “among the finest guitarists of all time” by American Record Guide.
Subscriptions and single tickets are available for sale at www.pcmf.org or by calling (800) 320-0257. Single tickets are $32 in advance, $35 at the door, and free for 21 and under. (Valid ID may be required at the door.) Subscribe to all four concerts for just $105.
