Maine Excellence in Arts Education
The Maine Arts Commission honors arts education by curating student art exhibits featured throughout the Maine State House Complex. Maine Excellence in Arts Education recognizes the high quality of visual and performing arts by hosting a celebration that includes a reception for students and teachers alike.
Starting in the fall of 2018, the Arts Commission features rotating exhibits that combine student work with their respective art teacher's work. The December 2018 program includes a student exhibit showcased throughout the State House Complex. Five pieces of artwork will be selected for the exhibition from nine schools. Additionally, each student artist and their families are invited to the Hall of Flags for a special reception. The reception includes student performances and certificates ceremony with First Lady Ann LePage.
