Maine Arts Commission Announces March Grant Support Sessions for Artists and Communities
Free virtual sessions will help applicants explore the Artist Project Grant and Creative Communities Grant
The Maine Arts Commission invites artists, organizations, and community partners to join a series of free virtual grant support sessions this March focused on the Artist Project Grant and Creative Communities Grant.
These sessions are designed to help potential applicants learn more about each funding opportunity, ask questions, and talk through ideas in a supportive setting. Participants will have the chance to better understand program goals, eligible activities, and what makes a strong proposal before preparing an application.
“We want these sessions to be a welcoming space for people to learn, ask questions, and explore ideas,” said Eli Cabañas, Grants and Website Manager at the Maine Arts Commission. “Whether you are just beginning to think about a proposal or already have a project in mind, these conversations are meant to help applicants feel more confident and supported in the process.”

Artist Project Grant Lunch & Learn

Join Eli Cabañas from the Maine Arts Commission for an overview of the Artist Project Grant, including eligible activities, what the grant is designed to support, and how to shape a realistic, achievable proposal with clearly defined goals. Participants will have time to ask questions, talk through project ideas, and learn how the Artist Project Grant can support artistic growth, strengthen creative practice, and advance career development.

Creative Communities Grant Lunch & Learn
| March 11, 12 to 1 p.m.
Join Danielle Moriarty from the Maine Arts Commission for an overview of the Creative Communities Grant, including its goals, eligible project ideas, and what makes a strong community-based proposal. Participants will have time to ask questions, talk through project ideas, and learn how arts and culture can support community needs, strengthen local identity, and expand public access to the arts.

Grants After Hours |
March 12, 7 to 8 p.m.
Join the Maine Arts Commission for an informal office-hours style conversation covering both the Creative Communities Grant and Artist Project Grant. This session is a chance to ask questions, talk through ideas, and get guidance as you shape your application. Participants are encouraged to come ready for conversation, learning, and support as they explore which grant may be the best fit for their goals.
